On Sunday 25 February, CUE Haven is partnering with The Forest Bridge Trust to connect and engage with nature at CUE Haven.
The Forest Bridge Trust (TFBT) is an organisation devoted to creating a corridor of thriving native forest from the Kaipara to the Hauraki Gulf. TFBT representatives will be on hand from 10 am to 12:30 pm to talk about their work and how landowners can get involved with pest control and bush enhancement on their properties.
There will also be guided walks with TFBT staff and CUE Haven volunteers around the property during that time.
RSVP: claire@theforestbridgetrust.org.nz
Guests are welcome to bring a picnic lunch and explore more of the CUE Haven reserve till 4 pm.

One response to “CUE Haven Open Day–25 February 2024”
Hi Mahrukh and Thomas,
I am looking forward to some pic’s from the Open Day this Sunday, it will be a wonderful day I am sure. I did pass the Open day info onto my (NZ) family and hopefully some will be able to make it. I am not sure about Mark and Debbie though, I recall that they were doing a big overseas trip this year, but not sure when.
Thank you so much for all your emails, love the updates of all the work going on there and all the jokes. I am still having some post Covid problems, not too serious (I hope) but debilitating and frustrating for sure. My inbox is suffering, I read all the emails, but my brain doesn’t always engage enough to respond, so please don’t think that I am not interested or ignoring messages, I keep reassuring myself that this is a temporary situation and not to panic.
We are having a very mild winter, very little precipitation which is worrisome as there are concerns already about another serious forest fire season ahead. Fires are still burning from last year and we have drought conditions which does not bode well. Last year was bad enough with smoke throughout the Provence for weeks, with us shut indoors with windows and doors closed, – hot and airless inside (and no air conditioning in this building). But we will survive again. I have great friends and neighbors all supporting each other and that is all we need to get by.
I hope all is well with you both, I am so impressed with all you are doing.
Take care, enjoy your day on Sunday,
Lots of love and best wishes,
Meryl
