Sponsor a Planting

We are a community project and if you would like to join the growing community that are supporting our endeavour, please consider sponsoring tree plantings at CUE Haven.

The idea for sponsored plantings came about when our dear friend, Niki Harre, approached us and asked to plant several trees in order to offset her carbon emissions from a long haul flight she was going to be taking.

Did you know that airplanes are a major source of greenhouse gas? A round trip flight from Auckland to London generates approximately 3900 kgs of CO2 per passenger.

Many people, wishing to minimise the impact of their CO2-generating activities, choose to plant trees which work to absorb CO2 during their lifetimes. One tree can offset the carbon produced by a 2000 km flight – a return trip to Sydney.  Eleven trees will offset the CO2 from a return trip to Los Angeles while 18 trees will offset the CO2 from a return trip to London.

Planting a tree at CUE Haven is a great way to offset the carbon footprint of your air travel.

If you would like to offset your carbon footprint, or if you’d just like to help out the revegetation project — then sponsor a tree at CUE Haven.

Cost to plant a revegation tree (not a Memorial or Celebration tree) is NZ$10.  This cost covers the purchase of a pioneer species tree (e.g., manuka, kanuka, karamu) as well as planting the tree.

You can pay for the planting by PayPal secure link.  Note:  If you don’t have a PayPal account, don’t worry. When you click the button below, look for instructions on how to use your credit card to make a payment to the left of the login box.

Alternatively, please contact us at if you would like direct deposit details.

Thank you for your support.

He who plants a tree, Plants a hope …
